MissionLed by an ecumenical Board of Governors, the Lectureship sponsors two or three lectures each year. Speakers include distinguished scholars, theologians and others whose qualifications stimulate intellectual exchange about the relationship between religion and society. The format includes an evening lecture and several days of teaching and dialog with faculty, students and interested members of the community. The Lectures focus on the religious dimensions of being human, exploring the function and responsibility of religion in society and its role in forming social and moral values. In the words of William James, "Religion, like science, is also a key to reality, for it is a permanent dimension of man's life, his history and his social development." November 16, 2007
